Retouching. Most everyone finds fault with their picture, but even a perfect picture has technical problems that must be corrected for when it goes to production. A lot of obvious things change, like blemishes disappear, features are enhanced or removed, but there are many more subtle corrections that adjust the picture for the best possible reproduction in print, including careful attention to color, highlights, shadows and sharpness. How far should the retouching go? Its easy to make a plastic looking mannequin, but that's not the goal. My aim, then, is to show a person as they really are, in their best light.
